So I got that goin' for me

Carl Spackler: A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking.
So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier.
Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-lagunga.
So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me.
And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Slaughterhouse Five

Started reading Kurt Vennegut's Slaughterhouse five yesterday, and have to say that i had absolutely no idea that the book is an antiwar story. In any case, here is my favorite sentence from the read thus far:

"I have told my sons that they are not under any circumstances to take part in massacres, and that the news of massacres of enemies is not to fill them with satisfaction or glee."

Basically, a satellite gets suddenly much brighter for a few seconds. If you know where to look and at what time you can catch it,

On The Road with the Haverkamp's

It has been a long time since I posted an accounting of some of our travels, but they are so extraordinary, that it is worth at least mentioning. I will do a listing and try not to miss anyone who has traveled in the past week.
Fletcher went to Vermont to spend his Christmas present time with Hans and snow skied and was awesome.
They were joined by Hilary who drove up for a few days who also skied.
Hannah flew to Portland Oregon to see Sara and Tony, where she did a cartwheel on the Pacific Ocean beach.
Erin and York flew to San Francisco for the week, where Erin worked and York walked 8miles a day.
Emily, did you go to Middle TN with the boys to see your grandpa?
Hans is now on the Outer Banks, windsurfing for the week.
Finn was driven by Sally and I to Nashville and back last night for a Rush concert which he said was awesome, amazing and worth it.
Fletcher went camping and hiking two hours away in Big Ridge Sate Park, with a Meet Up Group.
Hilary went to Falls Church and then Hilary and a bunch of people (not sure of all)I think Echo and Essie and I don't know whether Kat and Seth and then Holland and Jamie and their kids and probably Penelope, too, all went to the nation Capital to se Cherry Blossoms and not fly kites.
And, Jimmy Rose traveled from Middle Tennessee to Norris to help out with the children of Y and E.
Very Confusing.
Let's see... I can't guarantee that is all, but gosh, isin't that enough!
