A tale of a traveler and three Pennys
Sometimes in life… well, you see… here’s the thing. We gots ups and we’s gots the downs. And sometimes in life, we’s gets all flipped arounds. Walking home the other night – it was the Sabbath – I found a penny. It was face down. I walked on. A little farther along, I found another penny. It was face up. I picked it up. A little further, I found penny number three. It was face down. It stayed on the ground. And I thought to my self, I thought, “Well isn’t this indicative of life. “ Some times are good and some times … aren’t. They’re either face up or face down. I stopped and stood for a moment. “Shucks,” I sais to myself. “ It can’t be that bad a thing.” I walked back and with loads of ginger, picked up the two other pennies. I continued on. Debating whether or not I should have picked up the face down pennies. But the simple truth of the matter is, ya’ll, I found three pennies to take home with me. So even when your already tired steps grow weary-er, and you just cant see the smiley person in the mirror, just think about this little tail of the traveler homeward bound with three pennies a – jinglin’ in his pocket. And know this. Life’s little mishaps can still make you a cent richer, if you let it.
